Location
The village is located 25 km. northwest of the town of Nessebar with an altitude of 250 m. The climate is temperate continental, influenced by the Black Sea, with an average annual temperature of 15 o C.
The small and picturesque village is extremely favorable for the development of rural tourism. Everyone who chooses to visit it for Lazarus Day will enjoy the custom of Lazarus, which remained in the life of the village as an exciting holiday for youth and beauty. On this day, the most personal girls of the village sing Lazarus songs and play specific Lazarus people, dressed in the best folk costumes and adorned with spectacular local jewelry. On the Saturday night before St. Lazarus’ Day, the girls gather at the home of the riot (the youngest girl). From the morning of the next day, the lazars go from village to house, where the joyful hosts are waiting for them. The riot led the dance from the gate and the lazars entered the house with songs. Characteristic of the lazar songs are the nominal addresses, which the lazar singers change depending on the person to whom they address the wish. A large number of Lazarus songs are also associated with domestic animals, as man’s first helpers.
