The village of Poroy

The village of Poroy is located 20 km. from Pomorie and 15 km. from the town of Nessebar in the eastern part of the Aytos mountain. Near the village passes the river Hadjiyska, on which is the dam Poroy.
Poroy Dam is located near the village, 13 km. from the resort Sunny Beach. The dam, with an area of approximately 4,500 acres, is accessible from all sides and its shores offer excellent conditions for picnics, camping, fishing, boating.
At the foot of Stara Planina, about 2 km from the village of Poroy, there are the remains of a chapel and an ancient settlement. In the village there is a functioning Orthodox church named “St. Dimitar.
The motocross track in the village of Poroy is the only one of sand in the Balkans. It hosts competitions from the European Championship. The track is built on sandy natural soil, which distinguishes it from other motocross tracks.
