Pomorie salt lake

Estuarine healing mud and lye provided by the lake of Pomorie are one of the greatest natural resources not only for the town, but also for the whole country.
Specialists from all over the world consider the formula of this estuary mud to be invaluable. Its chemical composition contains a high content of sulfur and iron, for this reason it has an extremely beneficial effect and cures diseases of the musculoskeletal system, skin diseases and diseases of the genital system.
The lake is a protected area under the Birds Directive. The wetland offers a rare combination of living conditions that allow the development of a very rare complex of salt-loving vegetation and animals adapted to this salinity, some of which can only be seen here.
The lake is part of the second largest bird migration route in Europe – Via Pontica.
